About Gerard Scott Designs

All these stones are cut by hand, here in my studio in Southern California, USA. Many of my favorite materials are found right here on the west coast; from Mexico on up to Canada.

I am constantly amazed by the endless variety of color and patterns found in the materials I cut. I see a lot of paralells between the different patterns and formations that are found in natural gems materials and those found in the larger natural world . From the shapes found in nebulas and cloud formations to those found in plant life right on down to the microscopic world, all are on display in the agates and jaspers I cut. I try to use shape, design and finish to best display the patterns in the stone and showcase the beauty of these fascinating natural materials to thier greatest advantage.
